김 작가는 1993년 서울대학교 대학원 재학 중 미디어에 관심을 가지기 시작하여 1997년 미술학 석사 논문(“비올라와 힐의 ‘주관적 시간성’에 대한 현상학적 분석 연구”)으로 처음 미디어 아트에 입문하였습니다. 졸업 후 사운드 인터렉티브 프로그램 개발, 가상 음악 영상 시스템 및 그 시스템의 영상 표시 방법에 대한 특허 취득 등 활발한 활동을 하다가 New York University의 ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program)로 유학을 한 후 돌아와 2009 인천 국제 디지털 아트 페스티벌 (INDAF 2009), 2011, 서울 스퀘어, 한빛미디어파크, 상암 DMC를 연결하는 트라이앵글 미디어 파사드 프로젝트 ‘유기체로서의 도시’, ‘Beyond. Data’(서울의 트라이앵글 미디어파사드와 프랑크 푸르트, 뉴욕, 오클랜드 연결), 2012 서울국제 미디어아트 비엔날레(Mediacity Seoul 2012), 산수, 디지털을 만나다(경남도립미술관), 2014 매트릭스: 수학 순수에의 동경과 심연(국립현대미술관), 치유의 기술(제주도립미술관), 2015 평창올림픽 G-500 미디어파사드 프로젝트의 초대작가, 제7회 서울국제미디어아트비엔날레 OUTDOOR SCREENING ‘Spell on the city’, 2014 Art & Science 융합프로젝트 Dynamic Structure & Fluid, 2015 한강 가을 빛 축제 ‘물의 꿈’의 총감독을 역임하였습니다.
Kenny Kyungmi Kim's artworks are products of relentless exploration of human beings, and the interactions of humans with nature and humans with humans. It is impressive to watch how the interactive media installations become overly adept at turning on excessive technology and to accurately communicate the message that the author intends to convey to the audience. This kind of merit can be attributed to the complexity of thought and the depth of time acquired in the process of the artist 's activities in this 30 year period leading to pure art, aesthetics, art theory, and media art. The explosive enthusiasm that fills the depths of the time is another advantage of Kenny Kyungmi Kim.
Kim began his interest in media in 1993 while studying at the Graduate School at Seoul National University. She started her career in Media art in 1997 with a master's thesis, Phenomenological Analysis of Viola and Hill's Subjective Time. After graduating, she worked actively in the development of sound interactive program, patent acquisition of virtual music video system and video display method of the system. After studying ITP (Interactive Telecommunications Program) at New York University, she returned to Korea, and participated in the Incheon International Digital Art Festival in 2009.
